University of Guelph at Vineland

University of Guelph and the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre have executed a research partnership agreement to collaborate on national and international industry-driven horticulture research initiatives. Both partners will conduct research and develop products for the multi-million-dollar agri-food industry.

Dr. John Cline

Dr. John Cline is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Agriculture, University of Guelph where he conducts tree fruit physiology research on apples in Simcoe, Ontario and peaches, cherries and plums in Vineland, Ontario.  Dr. Cline is also involved in teaching graduate and undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph and provides extension services to industry, growers and stakeholders.

Dr. Helen Fisher 

Dr. Fisher is an Association Professor, Department of Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph.  Dr. Fisher has over 30 years of experience in vineyard management for fruit quality improvement.  During this time she has supervised 16 ha of experimental vineyards and collaborated with soil scientists, pathologists, molecular biologists and many other practical viticulturists.  She has been involved in grape breeding for wine and table use, as well as specialty lines for neutraceutical purposes in less that ideal climatic conditions.  Dr. Fisher was recently awarded the OAC Alumni Association Distinguished Extension Award for 2006.
