Research Partners

Vineland is committed to developing and sustaining research relationships with universities, colleges, government research laboratories and related agri-businesses. These relationships not only increase efficiencies in the use of public resources, but also allow for cost and research benefits.

To identify provincial horticulture industry research priorities, Vineland conducts consultations with Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association, Ontario Tender Fruit Producers’ Marketing Board, Ontario Apple Growers, Ontario Fresh Grape Growers’ Marketing Board, Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers, Grape Growers of Ontario, Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers, Ontario Berry Growers’ Association, Ontario Asparagus Growers, Ontario Potato Board, Fresh Vegetable Growers of Ontario, Flowers Canada (Ontario), Canadian Nursery Landscape Association, and Landscape Ontario. Consultations are aligned with Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs priorities, and include input from stakeholders across the value chain.

From 2010-2013, Vineland will deliver the Regional Science Cluster for the Ontario horticulture sector under the Growing Forward Canada-Ontario program. Nationally, to address the greenhouse ornamental and nursery sector’s priorities, Vineland will partner with the Canadian Ornamental Horticulture Alliance, universities and government, and engage the AgriScience Clusters program. Vineland will also engage with the Canadian Horticultural Council and execute projects on specific crops that align with our research strategy.

Vineland also collaborates with local and international horticulture businesses in identifing research needs and developing appropriate research programs.
