Tania Humphrey, PhD
As Vice President, Research and Development, Tania Humphrey develops the strategy and guides the direction of Vineland’s innovation portfolio to maximize its real-world impact. She heads up a team of research directors, scientists and engineers and oversees the progress of R&D activities and decision making processes that ensure the portfolio is aligned to the needs and opportunities in the horticulture sector. She works to ensure Vineland R&D delivers timely and practical results and works closely with Vineland’s business development team to facilitate the movement of innovations out to the marketplace.
Tania is a passionate advocate for innovation in agriculture and is a key liaison with government, partners and stakeholders. She emphasizes the importance of building connections between different industries and scientific disciplines and works to expand Vineland’s collaborative network across Canada.
She joined Vineland in its early days and has played a key role in shaping the organization into what it is today. Tania holds a PhD in Plant Biology from the University of Queensland, Australia and in her early career held research positions with the University of Toronto and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
