The Right Tools: Integrating Biological Control Systems for Impact and Results

This research is developing effective biocontrol strategies for the control of thrips and other insect pests in greenhouse and nursery setting. With widespread resistance to commonly used pesticides, biological control offers an effective and sustainable solution. Results will provide greenhouse and nursery growers with best management practices that integrate conventional and novel approaches. Research includes the practical implementation of biologically-based thrips integrated pest management strategies, pest management of propagated plant material and the use of biofungicides in greenhouse environments.
