Duties & Responsibilities

What we’re looking for…

Under the direction of the Director, Consumer, Sensory & Market Insights, the Research Technician will support data collection, analysis and reporting for market intelligence and economics research activities. 

What you’ll do…

  • Compile data from primary and secondary sources for market research scans.
  • Support literature review development and assist in the preparation of written reports, presentations and communications of research findings to stakeholders.
  • Support univariate and multivariate statistical analysis of research results.
  • Share responsibility for the development, upkeep and maintenance of shared files and procedures including SOPs, templates and databases.
  • Participate in meetings and prepare the minutes.

Qualifications

What we need from you…

  • BSc or undergraduate degree in market research, marketing and consumer studies, or economics
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in consumer and/or market research
  • Master’s degree considered an asset

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting agricultural, investment, market, industry, and economic data using software such as Excel, R.
  • Familiarity with economic modeling tools and statistical forecasting methods.
  • Proficiency in conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Knowledge of economics, as it applies to agriculture and sustainability.
  • Knowledge of value chains, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics in the agriculture and agri-food sector (desirable).
  • Familiarity with environmental scanning and SWOT analysis (desirable).
