A.M.A. Horticulture Inc. launched the RootSmart innovation at the Landscape Ontario Congress in 2018. Now one year later, ongoing field trials at Vineland Research and Innovation Centre continue to show that the propagation tray is having real impact on better root distribution and tree establishment.

The Government of Canada invests in innovation to support the Canadian greenhouse sector

Today, Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food was at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre to announce a federal investment of up to $5 million to the Automation Cluster under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership. The Cluster will be led by the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre Inc.

Vineland’s interim CEO Shelley Martin recipient of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award

The list of Women’s Executive Network Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada presented by KPMG, was released November 22, 2018 paying tribute to the outstanding women across Canada who have advocated for diversity in the workforce, and who serve as an inspiration for the next generation of leaders. Vineland’s interim CEO Shelley Martin is a winner in the HSBC Corporate Executives category.

Canadian farmers, entrepreneurs and health care workers to benefit from new investment in research

Today, the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, announced $6.7 million in federal funding for seven new projects under Genome Canada’s Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP) that will match researchers with companies to develop new gene-based technologies in health care, agriculture and environmental protection. An additional $14.3 million is being invested by provincial governments, businesses and other funding partners for a total of $21 million.
