Vineland Research at the Canadian Greenhouse Conference (CGC) 2025

This year’s Canadian Greenhouse Conference, built around the theme of Harvesting Resilience, was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders, growers, and innovators from across the horticultural sector. We were thrilled to  engage with so many attendees who share our commitment to advancing sustainable, science-driven solutions for Canadian greenhouse production.

A highlight of the event was our ‘Ask an Expert’ campaign, which encouraged attendees to speak directly with research specialists on our team and explore how Vineland’s research can help address real-world industry challenges. The conversations sparked throughout  the event reinforced the power of collaboration and the shared dedication to driving the industry forward.

We were proud to have two Vineland experts present at this year’s conference:

Dr. Alexandra Grygorczyk

Vineland’s Research Scientist, Sensory & Consumer Services, shared insights into how consumer preferences influence product development and market success.

Dr. Rose Buitenhuis

Dr. Rose Buitenhuis Vineland’s Director, Biological Crop Protection, discussed innovations in biological pest control and strategies for more resilient growing systems.

And in the ‘Tools of the Trade’ area:

Ashley J. Summerfield, MSc.

Ashley Summerfield, Vineland’s Senior Research Technician, Biological Control, offered hands-on demonstrations using microscopes to help attendees identify the pests affecting their crops — a big hit with growers and students alike.

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth or our talks to connect, ask questions, and share ideas. Each interaction helps strengthen the link between research and application, ensuring that our work continues to deliver meaningful  impact for the sector.

If you didn’t have a chance to meet us at the conference, we’d welcome the opportunity to hear from you. Reach out to our team to learn more about our ongoing research, collaboration opportunities, and upcoming projects:
