Enhancing Flavour and Production Traits of Canadian Greenhouse Tomatoes

Producing greenhouse tomatoes with improved flavour, disease resistance and low light tolerance suited to Canadian greenhouse growing conditions is the goal of this research program. Vineland's consumer preference map, biochemical profiles and bioinformatics resources are leading to growth opportunities for commercial growers.

In partnership with the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers, Vineland is developing two hybrid varieties of greenhouse tomatoes with new and different flavour profiles by 2021.
